Scenic Artist and Fabricator Job at The Villages in The Villages

Within the spirit of "Making People's Dreams Come True", this position is responsible for executing projects from conception to onsite setup and strike. This position is also responsible for sculpting, sanding, mixing, coating, painting, finishing, and carpentry, as well as troubleshooting, and maintenance and repair of all scenic elements. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Full Time, Onsite Position
Competitive salary based on experience: Starting at $19 an hour.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with décor elements for holidays such as garland, Christmas trees, string lighting and facades.
• Take conceptual designs and further develop into the next design phases.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair all scenic elements, properties and equipment.
• Identify scenic elements and properties needed to complete designs.
• Assist in the set-up and breakdown of special events.
• All other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one (1) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training.
• Required to work nights, weekends and holidays based on business needs.
• Excellent time management towards meeting deadlines is a requirement.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, volume and distance.
• Proficient in scenic design work - sculpting, sanding, mixing, coating, painting, finishing and carpentry.
• Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals and blueprints.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• This position is subjected to The Villages Vehicle Safety Program and its policies as it requires the use of personal vehicles for company business. Please refer to the Vehicle Safety Program for the policies and procedures that this position is required to follow.
• A Valid Driver's License with a record acceptable to company standards is required for this position.
