GENERAL SUMMARY: The Assistant Dean of the School of Creative& Information Technologies reports to the Dean and provides operationalleadership and support for the School and its personnel, students, programs andservices.

PRINCIPALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, evaluation and development of faculty and academic staff vis--vis School and institutional policies, practices and strategic priorities.
  • Promote and advance fairness in student access, learning, and outcomes.
  • Foster collegiality and positive morale.
  • Assist with the collaborative development and fulfillment of short- and long-term strategic priorities for the School, as well as the policies, procedures and initiatives appropriate for achieving them.
  • Support the ongoing analysis of current and emerging educational and workforce trends and the alignment of the School's offerings and services to them.
  • Provide ongoing operational support to the School's programs, services, students, faculty, staff and other stakeholders, and address emergent issues in accordance with School, University and other pertinent policies, procedures and practices in a timely manner.
  • Support specialized and institutional accreditation initiatives.
  • Promote and support academic innovation and excellence.
  • Support the preparation and updating of School and University promotional materials and website.
  • Assist with the day-to-day monitoring and management of School budgets, facilities and other resources to ensure appropriate and optimum utilization.
  • Assist with the pursuit and acquisition of extramural resources.
  • Provide operational support to the School's student recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of robust relationships with alumni, as well as industry and community representatives.
  • Maintain accurate records relative to all School interests.
  • Ensure safe work and learning environments.
  • Represent the School and University in appropriate professional and community organizations and related activities.
  • Support the exploration of and engagement in collaborations with internal and external entities to advance the School, OSUIT and their stakeholders.
  • Serve as an active, contributing member campus-wide committees, as selected and/or assigned.
  • Coordinate and communicate School activities with Academic Affairs, Fiscal Services, Student Services, Marketing & Communications, the OSU Foundation, and other units as appropriate.
  • Fulfill other responsibilities to meet the needs of the School and/or OSUIT.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Should possess thecredentials necessary to qualify as a faculty member for one of the School'sprograms; graduate degree(s) highly preferred.
  • Individuals with alternatecombinations of credentials and/or experience may be considered.
  • Evidences a historyof demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
  • Three or more yearsof progressive experience in collaborative management and leadership;experience in higher education administration preferred.
  • Postsecondaryteaching experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated successin collaborating with various constituencies.
  • Ability to plan,organize and fulfill complex initiatives.
  • Knowledge of andexperience in working with technology.
  • Ability to researchand interpret federal, state, and institutional policies.
  • Understanding of theopportunities and challenges facing higher education; comprehension of land-grantcolleges and universities preferred.
  • Ability toeffectively engage community and industry leaders and alumni.
  • Ability to maintain highstandards of work, initiative, commitment, ethics, professional responsibilityand judgment.
  • Understanding ofqualitative and quantitative data analysis, budgeting and reporting.
  • Superiorinterpersonal skills - including the ability to effectively recognize andresolve complex problems in a constructive manner.
  • Mustdemonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Mustpossess excellent interpersonal skills, exercise decorum in all interactionswith stakeholders, and be able to effectively recognize and mitigate conflict.
  • ValidOklahoma driver's license.
  • Ability to work someevenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Travel required.
  • Normal office andclassroom work environments; ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Possibility of a hybrid work environment requiring a minimum of three days on campus each week.
