The Graphic Designer creates visually appealing and impactful designs marketing, advertising, and branding materials for the Chemical Insights Research Institute (CIRI). The Graphic Designer's creative expertise conveys CIRI's message and values to target audiences. The Graphic Designer collaborates with cross-functional teams, including research amplification, communication, research staff, and content creation, to ensure consistent and compelling visual communication across all platforms.

What you'll learn and achieve:
As the Graphic Designer you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:
- Develop and produce innovative and aesthetically pleasing designs for digital and print materials, including but not limited to social media graphics, website banners, brochures, flyers, posters, logos, packaging, and promotional materials.
- Ensure brand consistency by adhering to established brand guidelines while contributing to the evolution and improvement of the brand's visual identity.
- Work closely with other team members and departments to conceptualize, plan, and execute creative projects that align with organization objectives.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, design tools, and techniques to continuously bring fresh and innovative ideas to the table.
- Communicate and present design concepts to clients or stakeholders, taking feedback and incorporating necessary changes to achieve the desired outcomes.
- Coordinate with printers, photographers, illustrators, and other creative professionals to ensure high-quality production of deliverables.
- Organize and maintain design assets, ensuring easy accessibility and version control.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant tools.
- Proficient in print, production, print production background, digital distribution.
- Understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
- Knowledge of current design trends and best practices in both print and digital media
- Understanding of content management systems and web platforms including WordPress.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey design concepts effectively.
- Motion graphics and video editing skills.
- Web design and user experience (UX) knowledge.
- Illustration and hand-drawing abilities.
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS and responsive design.
Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in graphic design.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of creative projects and design skills is essential for consideration.
