Description

Job Duties
- Use knowledge of library services to young adults and adults to plan, promote, and implement programs and classes for young adults and adults at each of DCLD's branches, virtually, and at other locations in the community. Assist in coordinating, planning, promoting, and implementing summer reading programs.
- With other staff, create promotional materials and calendars for all library programs. Manage library calendars, including online. Serve as secondary staff member responsible for website maintenance.
- Use knowledge of the assigned subject area(s), vendor acquisition services, library policies, and the interests of library users for collection management, including selection, ordering, deselection of materials, both print and electronic, for all branches.
- Evaluate, create, and coordinate library services to the homebound.
- Utilize library management system for job functions such as acquisitions, budgeting, patron service, circulation, etc.
- Use knowledge of reference tools, databases, and literature to provide reader's advisory and reference services to library patrons of all ages. Work regular shifts at public services desk.
- Seek avenues to enhance professional knowledge through reading, attendance at workshops and conferences, and other activities.
- Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

General Requirements:
- Requires knowledge of trends in programming for ages 12 and up.
- Knowledge of young adult and adult literature.
- Familiarity with standard library databases and electronic media.
- Strong computer and technology skills, including proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, iOS and Android, Wordpress, etc.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Possession of a valid drivers' license and ability to travel to multiple locations as needed. Access to a personal vehicle may sometimes be necessary.
- Ability to work a variable schedule, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
