For additional information view Position Description:3387 Responsibilities This is an entry trainee level position leading to the full performance level as described in PD AL973 for Library Technician, NF-1411-03 position. cataloging/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing/accounting for and de-acquisitioning of library materials, shelf inventories A wide variety of systems application and maintenance which may include standard office software, basic Integrated Library System and PC management. The employee works under closer than normal supervision wherein work is closely reviewed and detailed guidance provided as needed. As employee progresses, supervisory control diminishes until full performance level is accomplished. Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade showing progressive responsibility to perform the duties associated with those of a library technician. OR Two years of education above high school OR A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate orally and deal effectively with people. PCS Costs: Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs ARE NOT AUTHORIZED, based on a determination that a PCS move IS NOT in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differential: This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
