Senior UI Developer - Accessibility Focus - W2 Only - Chicago, IL

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Front-End Developer with experience in JAWS and a strong understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in React and Angular, with a high value placed on Swift experience. Android development skills are also desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain front-end applications with a focus on accessibility and user experience.
• Parse API data and integrate it into front-end applications.
• Ensure compliance with WCAG standards (not ADA).
• Work within the GIS team, reporting to the manager, though direct interaction may be limited.
• Engage empathetically with sensitive populations to understand and address their needs.
• Collaborate on a multifactor authentication suite of applications, encompassing six different user flows/applications.
• Identify and remediate accessibility failures, aiming for zero failures by the end of 2025.

Qualifications:

• Strong in React and Angular.
• Strong experience with Swift (highly prized) and Android development.
• Familiarity with JAWS and WCAG standards.
• Ability to parse and integrate API data.
• Empathy and excellent communication skills for conversing with sensitive populations.
• Ability to work independently and within a team under the GIS department.

Success Criteria:

• Achieve zero accessibility failures by the end of 2025.
