Torrance Public Library Team!
The DepartmentThe mission of the Community Services Department is to enrich the community through the provision of recreational, cultural and educational opportunities for persons of all abilities. The Department has five divisions: Library, Administrative, Cultural, Recreation, and Parks. Our main library is centrally located in the Civic Center and five branches are conveniently located within a five-mile radius of the main library. The Library Division has a circulation of over 1.2 million funded with a budget of $7.2 million and staffed with approximately 67 employees. The PositionSenior Librarians under direction, manage a work unit, specialized library function or library location. The incumbent performs advanced and professional programming, supervision, leadership, delivery of services, and strategic planning within theLibrary Division. The incumbent plans and implements programs, mentors and coaches staff, manages logistics of services, and represents the library in various community partnerships.
