We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Mechanical Engineer, passionate about mechanical systems design, to join our West Coast Mechanical team working on a variety of project types throughout the country. Our portfolio includes the design of health care facilities, corporate headquarters, labs, museums, local, state, and federal government facilities, higher education buildings and campuses, and infrastructure improvements.

This position will work closely with the architectural group and other engineering disciplines to maintain our commitment to design and quality.
Building codes and technologies are rapidly evolving. We are looking for professionals with expert knowledge of applicable codes and regulations; extensive knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, and procedures; excellent problem-solving skills, use of Revit/BIM, and the ability to work with both internal and external clients to solve problems on HGA's projects across the country.

In this role you will:
- Responsible for HVAC engineering design including calculating heating and cooling loads, select equipment, layout duct and piping, create and edit project details, and be familiar with engineering specifications.
- Responsible for plumbing systems design including calculating capacities and loads, laying out piping systems and details, and editing project specifications.
- Participate in design review meetings and workshops.
- Resolve a variety of complex design challenges including conflicting Owner and project requirements, application of different system types, or challenging field conditions.
- Research design options and document findings for the project team.
- Assure drawings and designs are in accordance with applicable codes and design standards.
- Coordination with architectural and engineering disciplines as applicable.
You will need to have:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- 7-15 years of consulting engineering experience with emphasis on HVAC and plumbing systems design for healthcare, laboratory, commercial, municipal, institutional and government facilities and higher education facilities
- Revit, BIM, Trane/Trace, IES VE Title-24 2022 1.1, Energy Pro 9.3, CBECC 2022 3.1, and Microsoft Office skills required
Preferred Qualifications - (A plus, but not required)
- Professional Engineer registration a plus
- Knowledge in building control systems desired
Salary Information:
The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $76,400 - $106,600
