Overview
Salem Media Group's fast growing Salem News Channel is seeking a Studio Operations Manager to facilitate productions in our Arlington, VA facility. SNC features America's leading conservative commentators.
The Salem News Channel DC Studio Operations Manager is a wearer of many hats who is tasked with maintaining studio equipment, managing crew assignments and show schedules, and occasionally filling in for crew members during show production.
Our Arlington, VA studio is in production daily from 6am-9am ET as well as occasional evenings to accommodate live events, so candidates for this role will need to be able to accommodate. The ideal candidate for this position is an out of the box thinker who has a knack for all things video, and is able to stay cool and thrive in high pressure situations.
Responsibilities
The Studio Operations Manager will support our network shows by maintaining and operating the studio equipment, assisting talent as needed, ensuring crew assignments are filled, and overseeing the studio schedule. The Studio Operations Manager will also act as a point person for coordinating with the SNC management team on special projects and events. Equipment maintenance tasks include powering monitors and equipment on and off as needed, performing software updates and maintenance as needed, setting up and flipping sets between shows, establishing remote video and audio connections, adjusting robotic cameras, setting up mics and ifb units for talent, ensuring audio and video routes are set and correct, and assisting talent during shoots as needed.

Qualifications
- Good organizational skills
- High level communication skills
- Willing to work directly with show hosts and talent
- Able to accommodate tight deadlines and turnaround times
- Ability to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
- Familiar with video signal routing via Aja video routers
- Experience with Ross production equipment including:
- Ross Carbonite production switcher
- Ross Xpression graphics
- Ross Xpression Clips clip playback
- A basic knowledge of IT systems management, including network switches
- Comfortable with streaming video and setting up video streams to multiple destinations
- Ability to work well in a team and manage production personnel
- Newtek products including Tricaster and Talkshow experience
- Audio mixing experience preferred, specifically with digital mixers
- Possesses team management and organization skills
- Willing to work a flexible schedule (schedule will vary depending on the show being worked on, currently a morning shift)
- A general knowledge of production systems including video switchers, video routing equipment, wireless microphones and ifb systems, communication devices, robotic cameras, playback systems, studio lighting and teleprompters.
- Adept in lighting and shooting techniques, both in studio and remote
