Job Summary:

The Camera Operator will be responsible for capturing high-quality footage during sixteen (16) Detroit Tigers spring training games and sixty-six (66) Flying Tigers regular season games. Collaboration with Game Presentation Director to facilitate appropriate needs for in-game presentation and live-stream needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Game Coverage:

  • Operate video cameras to capture live footage of baseball games, including player actions, crowd reactions, and other relevant content.


Camera Setup:

  • Set up and position cameras in strategic locations to capture the best angles and shots for game coverage.


Collaboration with Production Team:

  • Work closely with the production team, including directors and producers, to capture shots as per the game script and production plan.


Player Close-Ups:

  • Focus on capturing close-ups of players, coaches, and other key figures during the game.


Replays:

  • Operate cameras for instant replays and provide additional angles for in-game analysis.


In-Game Features:

  • Capture footage for in-game features, promotions, and entertainment elements as directed by the production team.


Camera Maintenance:

  • Ensure that cameras are properly maintained and in good working condition.


Live Broadcast Support:

  • Support the live broadcast team by providing essential shots and angles for television or online streaming.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Camera Operation Skills: Proficient in operating professional video cameras and related equipment.
  • Sports Knowledge: A good understanding of baseball and the ability to anticipate key moments during a game.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with the production team, directors, and other camera operators.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changes in the game dynamics and respond to the needs of the production team.
  • Physical Stamina: The role may require standing for extended periods and moving equipment as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team environment, especially with other members of the production and broadcast team.
  • Attention to Detail: Capture clear and focused shots, paying attention to framing and composition.


Working Conditions:
  • Office & Outdoor Stadium Environment
  • Irregular and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Employment dates: January 16, 2025 - September 30, 2025
