Job Summary/Description:
The CBS/FOX/CW affiliate in Wausau, WI is looking for a full-time multimedia journalist who is ready to join our award-winning news operation.
Duties include setting up stories, shooting, and gathering information in the field as part of a team, and independently. This person will also be responsible for editing videos for our on-air and digital platforms, including wsaw.com and social media. We're looking for someone with a creative eye, who connects well with people and wants to tell great stories.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Editing video on a non-linear platform
- Enterprising timely, impactful local stories
- Shooting and gathering information in the field
- Operating TVU Live gear and Laptop editors, as well as live technology
- Collaborating with anchors, producers, and the assignment desk manager about stories
- Posting content and videos to our digital platforms
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Be available to work all shifts
- Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Be capable of working under pressure and meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy environment
- Have good communication skills
- Have solid news judgment
- Have the ability to multi-task efficiently
- Be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with ENPS, Grass Valley Edius, Sony XDCAM cameras, Arc Publishing and Social News Desk preferred.
