ABOUT THE POSITON
The teaching assignment may be at the Liberal Arts campus, the Pacific Coast campus or other college teaching locations. The assignment may be day, evening, weekend, online or off campus and is subject to change as needed. Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. Part-time faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. Duties

  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to integrating new technologies into the learning process, including but not limited to interactive technologies for on campus and on-line courses.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's in Library Science (MLS) or Library and Information Science (MLIS); OR,
  • the equivalent.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge, skillsets, and experience related to offering information literacy instruction, and conducting reference interviews, research orientations, and workshops both in-person and online.
  • Ability to coordinate and implement activities related to instructional services and Library curricular courses.
  • Experience working with various stakeholders including interns, faculty, and staff to accomplish shared objectives related to instructional support and activities development, such as creating student-centered workshops, and participating in meetings including the Library Advisory Board meetings.
  • Ability to conduct appropriate research and apply strategies toward the support and monitoring of instructional programs and their affiliated activities, ensuring timely completion of planned activities.
  • Skilled at using digital learning platforms (Canvas, Portfolium, LibApps) and online productivity tools (Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, Zoom) and ability to create and offer training to support broad use of instructional tools.
  • Ability to creatively support student development through promoting library courses and engaging in outreach activities to encourage retention and course success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
