Greater DC Diaper Bank’s (GDCDB) mission is to strengthen families by providing a reliable and adequate supply of diapers to families in need in the Washington metro area. We work with an incredible network of 40+ social service agencies to reach more than 3,600 families each month with the 175,000+ diapers and other baby and hygiene items that help keep children healthy in their early years. Founded in 2010, the Diaper Bank has distributed more than 8,000,000 diapers in the last 9 years. Working 40 hours a week, you will be the lead strategist and project manager of the Diaper Bank’s marketing and communication efforts. The CDS is both a strategic and tactical position and is responsible for developing, executing, and analyzing GDCDB’s annual communications plan, as well as representing GDCDB to the general public. In addition, the CDS will serve as the Salesforce Administrator for GDCDB and work in tandem with other team members to gather, store, and analyze the organizations’ data, including donor information, warehouse inventory, volunteer management tools, and distributions to the partner network. Finally, the CDS will collaborate to fine-tune all external communications, ensuring the Diaper Bank is optimizing its messaging at every opportunity. This position will work from home and at least three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) at the GDCDB warehouse located at
8858 Monard Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20901. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Leadership and Communication Strategy Collaborate with and support the organization’s leadership and participate in Greater DC Diaper Bank’s leadership team Work with the GDCDB leadership team to develop and execute its annual communications calendar, content plan, and design and approval process that covers all social media, online and offline communications Collaborate with team members to develop creative and mission-centric messaging that articulates the special role GDCDB plays in elevating families parenting in poverty Organize and Execute External Organizational Communications Manage development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, annual report, e-newsletters, Ambassador updates, and GDCDB’s website and social media accounts Manage annual Google Adwords grant budget by creating ad campaigns, overseeing targeted marketing strategy and purchasing keywords Utilize Google Analytics, paid advertising and digital strategy to expand virtual reach Serve as the primary system administrator for GDCDB’s Salesforce.com environment Handle all basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows and other routine tasks Maintain and update GDCDB’s Salesforce SOP manual Conduct in-house training for other staff as needed on how to properly use the system Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades Suggest and execute data field and object customizations to optimize data utility Manage all Salesforce apps and software integrations, including GiveLively, GDCDB’s online gift processor Data Reporting and Evaluation Design, update, and maintain various reports and dashboards to support the leadership team, including the Executive Director, the Development Director and the Director of Partnerships & Impact In conjunction with finance, support monthly revenue reconciliations Minimum Qualifications: You have earned a Bachelor’s Degree and have 4-6 years of communications experiences, preferably in the nonprofit industry You have extensive Salesforce experience as an end user and as an administrator. You might have earned ADM201 level certification, though not required. You are an excellent verbal and written communicator, possessing great attention to detail You have extensive experience working with online platforms such as MailChimp, Canva, Google products, WordPress, and other platforms that enable and enhance digital presence You have a documented history of successfully driving projects to completion You possess a demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex issues You are excited for the opportunity to promote the growing needs of families parenting in poverty and the innovative ways GDCDB partner organizations are addressing those unique needs You regularly demonstrate strong self-motivation, strategic thinking, and the ability to work independently You have awesome project management skills, with a knack for working backwards from deadlines and can deal with curve balls thrown at your work plan You have a keen attention to detail, a love of adhering to organizational systems, and aren’t satisfied until you have produced a high-quality work-product You possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality and are able to manage sensitive information You are reliable and a friendly communicator who reaches out and follows-up with professional persistence You are a creative thinker and willing to test out new ideas HOW TO APPLY FOR THIS JOB:
