Housing Works fights for funding and legislation to ensure that all people living with HIV/AIDS have access to quality housing, healthcare, HIV prevention, and treatment, among other lifesaving services.
Benefits:
We have three comprehensive healthcare plans to choose from based on your priorities and budget. Housing Works covers most of the plan; you pay a portion, based on your salary. Staff begins accruing PTO immediately for a total of up to 30 days earned in the first year. We offer employees an educational benefit. Overview:
The Community Manager is responsible for the implementation and administration of contracts and grants relating to the Continuum of Care's Youth Action Board (YAB), including, most notably, the Youth Homelessness System Improvement (YHSI) initiative funded by the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD). The Community Manager will oversee the growing portfolio of work being done in collaboration with young people with the lived experience of homelessness. The Community Manager, under the supervision of the Housing Director, will support the day-to-day operations of the YAB and the YHSI initiative.

Responsibilities:
Primary:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the YAB, including effectively corresponding with the New York City Continuum of Care (CoC), the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), and the NYC Fund to End Youth and Family Homelessness regarding YAB contracts and initiatives.
Secondary:
- Supervise YAB Chairpersons and DYCD/YHSI stipend workers using the tenets of Authentic Youth Leadership and Collaboration to establish a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment which supports youth.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with youths experiencing homelessness or a similar population, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Personal lived experience in youth homelessness or housing instability preferred.
