Open Until FilledBandera ISD is searching for a skilled and seasoned Campus Librarian to join the Alkek Elementary School Family for the 2025-2026 School Year.

Alkek Elementary School is a Pre-K through 5th Grade campus with an enrollment over 570 students.
Bandera ISD is a 4-Day Instructional Week District.
Bandera ISD has four campuses (2 Elementary, 1 Middle, & 1 High) with an enrollment of over 2200 students Pre-K through 12th Grade.

Start Date: Latter part of July 2025 (Exact Date will be determined as soon as possible)

Location: Alkek Elementary School (1798 TX-173 Bandera, Texas 78003)

Requirements:
Masters Degree or Higher - [Grandfathered Bachelors Degree (Applicants possessing a Bachelor's Degree and who received Library certification prior to 2009 only may also apply)]
Valid Texas Teacher Certification with Learning Resource endorsement and/or Learning Resource Specialist Certificate and/or School Librarian Certificate
Two years of successful classroom teaching experience from a public or accredited private school

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in the Texas Education Code of Ethics for Educators
- Collaborates with teachers to implement meaningful, timely instruction for individual students and/or groups
- Offers training and guidance to students and staff in the use of technology and information resources
- Offers a balanced collection of materials to support the curriculum and students' needs and interests
- Offers a balance of print and electronic resources based on District selection policies and regulations
- Maintains a current, relevant, organized collection
- Manages Library Assistant/s effectively
- Demonstrates fiscal responsibility over the library budget
- Establishes an environment which encourages self-discipline and self-directed learning
- Uses appropriate and accurate verbal and nonverbal communication with students, staff, parents and community
- Participates in professional development activities that are aligned with District, campus and library goals
- Collaborates with colleagues and other professionals for continued growth and development
- Correlates professional development activities with prior performance appraisal
- Maintains confidentiality of information and upholds FERPA
- Other duties as assigned as per the needs of the district
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging trends in library technologies, materials, collection development, general curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, and detail oriented
  • Ability to work cooperatively with administration, staff, students, parents, and members of the business community
  • Ability to work collaboratively with district and school site personnel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate effectively with administrators, campus level staff, parents, and the community
