News-Press and Gazette Company is hiring: Executive Producer in Saint Joseph

The Executive Producer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of news production, including content development, story selection, and team management. This person helps with story development from newscast-to-newscast and platform-to-platform and ensures the stations' brand is showcased on all platforms in the most compelling fashion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in journalism, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of producing high-quality news programming.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on the planning and execution of daily news programs, special reports, and other news content.
• Collaborate with the news team in story selection, development, and production.
• Manage a team of producers providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality work.
• Collaborate with other departments, including sales, marketing, and technical, to ensure the successful execution of news programs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including news sources, community leaders, and other media outlets.
• Able to respond quickly and effectively to breaking news situations, keeping other team members informed about the situation as it develops.
• Possesses knowledge of newsroom systems including the Adobe suite (Premiere and Photoshop in particular) BLOX and common social media platforms.
• Uses video and audio editing software to produce high quality visuals and sound.
• Monitor and analyze audience feedback and ratings to inform programming decisions and strategies.
• Ensure that all news content meets ethical and legal standards.
• Back up other news managers when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, communications or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Newscast Producer or similar role in a news or broadcasting environment is a plus.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in journalism and news production.
• Familiarity with broadcast technologies and production techniques.
• Active social media presence and familiarity with social media platforms and digital content distribution strategies.
• Acceptable level of computer experience.
