Job DetailsJob LocationCCS Main Campus - Chattanooga, TNDescriptionTITLE: Independent Contractor - Social Media SpecialistDEPARTMENT: Advancement EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-Time, 5-month contractPurpose/FunctionThe Communications Office plays a critical role in the success of Chattanooga Christian School by engaging with prospective and current families, alumni, donors, and friends through strategic and effective communication campaigns. We are seeking a Social Media Specialist for the remainder of the 2024 - 25 school year (January - May) to work closely with the communications team on a variety of strategic initiatives. As an independent contractor, this position will be responsible for executing social media strategies to drive engagement and consistently articulate the mission and vision of Chattanooga Christian School. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Collaborates with communications team to create on-brand content, write captions, and develop social media strategyExecutes social media strategy and posting daily on multiple social media accountsCoordinates and creates engaging and relevant content for social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, and YouTubeManages the school's social media content calendar and brainstorms new and fun ways to lean into current trends happening across socialMonitors social media presence of main and subsequent accounts to protect brand reputationBuilds and maintains a strong online community by engaging our followers, responding to comments and messages, and fostering meaningful interactionsAnalyzes social media performance and translates data into actionable recommendations, all while recapping what happened to internal stakeholders and senior leadershipMinimum Qualifications:Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of CCSBachelor's degree or high school diploma or GED and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.Self-starter, detail oriented, and a creative and collaborative problem solverStrong interpersonal communicator able to effectively communicate verbally and in writingKnowledge of social media best practices, tools, etiquette, and processesWorks well independently and as part of a teamAbility to balance multiple projects at one timeDetail-oriented and can craft an on-brand postAbility to maintain a positive, client-centric, and service-oriented attitude in daily work with a wide variety of internal and external constituentsTechnical competence in the workings of social media platforms, social media management tools, and social analyticsWorks effectively with faculty and staff, showing interest and understanding of a wide array of school programsTakes initiative and employs creativity appropriatelyQualificationsPreferred Qualifications:1+ years of marketing, communications, or related work experience1+ years managing or coordinating social media marketing for a brand, organization, or businessProficiency in CanvaProficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms, such as Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, and/or Meta Business SuiteProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom and IllustratorProficiency in video editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Premier Pro, and Davinci Resolve
