JOB TITLE:
Work-Study Marketing and Communications Assistant
DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:
Our team is dedicated to promoting the innovative research and economic development initiatives at the University of Wyoming. We aim to enhance the visibility of the university's research efforts, foster collaborations, and communicate the impact of these initiatives both locally and globally.
Job location: Bureau of Mines 327
Pay rate or range: $12 an hour
JOB PURPOSE:
Support the Research and Economic Development Division Marketing and Communications group with daily tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role, the Work-Study Marketing and Communications Assistant will assist in designing and distributing marketing materials and managing the division's social media platforms to keep them updated with current research projects and events. This position will also help in organizing and promoting events related to research and economic development. Additionally, this position includes managing the Research and Economic Development Division's (REDD) webpages, ensuring content is current and reflects the ongoing initiatives and achievements of the division. This position will collaborate with other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to marketing efforts across the university.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The Work-Study Marketing Assistant must be currently enrolled at the University of Wyoming and eligible for work-study. Candidates should be progressing towards a degree in Marketing, Communications, Visual Communications, or a related field. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, basic knowledge of graphic design tools, and familiarity with social media platforms. Applicants should demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Previous experience in a related field (e.g., internships, volunteer work) is beneficial but not required.
- Experience with content creation for social media, blogs, or websites is advantageous.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
