Managing Editor – Chicago Lawyer Magazine

Serve as a senior member of the editorial department, leading Chicago Lawyer magazine, its website – chicagolawyermagazine.com, and as an assistant editor of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, chicagolawbulletin.com.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and coordinate the daily print and digital schedule for CLM and ensure timelines, deadlines, and budgets are met.
2. Write compelling content for the magazine, including features and cover stories as warranted.
3. Oversee the roster of columnists for the publication and assign/manage their schedules.
4. Work with designers to develop exciting layouts and designs.
5. Gather photographs and other images as needed.
6. Create new and engaging content for the chicagolawyermagazine.com website at least two to three times per week.
7. Lead, manage, and compile surveys for the magazine, including our annual law firm and diversity issues.
8. Attend community and legal events, including bar association gatherings and client functions.
9. Meet regularly with columnists or clients/sources to develop editorial content.
10. Lead CLM Women’s Advisory Board meetings.
11. Serve as a backup to the editor of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and learn all aspects of the CDLB editor’s role.
