Senior Lead I&E Designer
1. Typical lead designer activities (grounding, area classification, cable tray, lighting, one-lines, cable schedule, LV/MV ampacity calculations, interconnect wiring drawings, motor schematics, review vendor data and incorporate information into the drawing package
2. NEC Application Advisor - Work with engineering and design at the beginning of a project and review drawings to ensure NEC code compliance
3. Assist engineering and design with specification of electrical equipment and incorporate into the drawing package
4. Review Electrical building RFQ packages, review building and equipment drawings as the project progresses, attend building FAT
5. Electrical Equipment Bid Tab - review electrical equipment quotes and fully understand the equipment
6. Construction RFI support - work with construction contractors/inspectors for field support.
7. Low Voltage and Medium Voltage cable ampacity calculations
8. Electrical equipment interconnection drawings - fully understand the electrical equipment interconnection and application
9. Switchgear design and control
10. Motor control and protection
11. Cable tray fill calculations and duct bank/conduit fill calculations
12. Design drawing check/constructability review of drawing package
13. Understand NETA Testing and Equipment Quality Control Procedures
14. Class 1 Location Specialist
15. Knowledge of available electrical materials and fittings
16. Review and provide input to the P&IDs and understand how PIDs dictate the electrical and instrumentation workflow (understand instrumentation and pneumatics)
17. Attending Model Reviews and Constructability Reviews offers feedback and solutions.
18. Electrical & Instrumentation Package QA/QC
19. Mentor junior designers.
