Description

The Marketing Analyst, Data Storytelling at Girl Scouts of Western Washington (GSWW) uses data to effectively communicate and highlight strategic narratives in support of the marketing and communications team's comprehensive strategy. Using best practices in data visualization, the Marketing Analyst, Data Storytelling will effectively communicate marketplace trends and benchmark progress toward the organization's strategic priorities to increase engagement among Girl Scout youth, volunteers, donors, and community partners. This role will work with departments across the council to collect data, analyze findings, and communicate results. Insights presented by the Marketing Analyst, Data Storytelling will help guide council storytelling to ensure data is being used effectively to share the impact of Girl Scouting with internal and external stakeholders.

This is a regular, part-time (20 hours per week), non-exempt role that requires residency in Washington State, preferably within our Council region of Western Washington. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Work can be conducted remotely, but successful candidates must be willing and able to come into a GSWW office as needed or when requested. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa. While the full pay range for this position is $29.74 to $32.37 per hour based on tenure with GSSW, this position will start at $29.74 per hour for purposes of internal pay equity.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Develops and disseminates internal and external audience surveys
  • Conducts accurate and timely reporting using statistical modeling and other business analysis tools that will be used by council leadership to support and drive business decisions
  • Implements tracking parameters for external communications; gathers and analyzes data from various sources, such as website traffic, customer behavior, and social media engagement; and reports on marketing campaigns using data analytics to ensure ROI Ensures analysis and reporting accuracy and integrity, provides explanation of performance drivers
  • Imports, cleans, and validates data using databases and tools including but not limited to Excel, Power BI, Salesforce, Google Analytics, Qualtrics, Looker, and Donor Perfect
Insight Extraction
  • Provides accurate and appropriate interpretations of data
  • Collects, interprets, analyzes, and presents data gathered from external audience surveys
  • Compiles and presents national and regional research on the state of girls* and how to most effectively deliver Girl Scout programming to our community today
  • Completes programming evaluations to determine the impact of the Girl Scout experience on our members and community
Narrative Development
  • Crafts compelling stories around data insights, considering the audience and their needs to make the information relatable and impactful
Data Visualization
  • Presents conclusions in charts, graphs, or spreadsheets, as well as slide presentations
  • Produces a council dashboard that tracks progress toward our organization's strategic priorities and initiatives
Communication Skills
  • Effectively presents data stories to internal and external stakeholders to drive action based on insights

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Education and Experience Required
  • Associate's degree in data analytics or related field
  • Minimum of two years' experience in data and/or business analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics and survey development OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Preferred Skills and/or Experience
  • Experience using Power BI, Salesforce, Donor Perfect, Qualtrics and IBM SPSS Statistics strongly preferred
Other Qualifications
  • Must reside within Washington State, with preference of residence within our Council region of Western Washington.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license, proof of insurance, vehicle in working condition, and the ability to fulfill travel requirements on an as-needed basis
  • Satisfactory results from criminal background search
  • Commitment to the Girl Scout mission and willingness to maintain Girl Scout membership
  • Must be willing and able to come into a Girl Scouts of Western Washington office as needed or when requested
