Merdinian Armenian Evangelical School is seeking an innovative and strategic Director of Communications and Marketing to join the Administrative team and to lead all internal and external communications, branding, and marketing efforts. This role is essential in promoting the school’s mission, enhancing its public image, fostering strong community relationships, and supporting internal stakeholders. Reporting to the Principal, the Director of Communications and Marketing will collaborate closely with faculty, staff, parents, and external partners to advance the school’s mission and values. START DATE: JULY 1, 2025 (this is a 12-month position) If the right candidate is found and able to start before July 1, 2025, the start date can be as early as mid-January 2025. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Marketing and Communications Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication plans that promote the school’s programs, achievements, and Christian values. Utilize digital platforms, print media, email campaigns, and community outreach to engage diverse audiences, including current and prospective families, alumni, and local community members. Ensure alignment of all communication materials with the school’s mission, vision, and brand identity. 2. Digital Marketing and Social Media Manage the school’s digital presence across websites, social media platforms, and email marketing channels. Create engaging and impactful content to strengthen online engagement and brand awareness, including graphics, videos, blogs, and newsletters. Analyze digital metrics to optimize strategies and improve performance. 3. Communications and Public Relations Draft compelling press releases, newsletters, and internal communications to showcase school achievements and initiatives. Serve as the primary spokesperson for the school, handling media inquiries and fostering positive relationships with community partners. Develop and implement crisis communication plans, ensuring timely and effective responses to sensitive situations. 4. Internal Communications Collaborate with the administration to streamline internal communications for faculty, staff, and parents, ensuring clarity and consistency. Support the Principal and administrative team by coordinating messages for school-wide initiatives, events, and policy updates. 5. Event Management Plan, organize, and oversee key school events such as open houses, fundraisers, board events, community outreach programs, and parent engagement activities. Collaborate closely with the Student Affairs lead to ensure events align with the school’s mission and cater to the needs and interests of students and families. Coordinate with staff, volunteers, and vendors to ensure professional execution and seamless delivery of events. 6. Alumni Affairs Develop and maintain relationships with alumni to foster a strong and engaged alumni network. Create and manage programs, newsletters, and events that celebrate alumni achievements and encourage their involvement in school initiatives. Collaborate with alumni to identify opportunities for mentorship, guest speaking, fundraising, and other support for current students and school programs. Maintain an alumni database and ensure regular communication to strengthen long-term connections with the school. 7. Community and Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, alumni, local businesses, churches, and community leaders to foster a sense of belonging and partnership. Lead initiatives that encourage parental involvement in school activities and events. 8. Brand and Reputation Management Maintain a consistent and cohesive brand identity across all school materials and communication channels. Develop strategies to enhance the school’s reputation within the community and among prospective families. 9. Content Creation Produce high-quality written and visual content that highlights student achievements, extracurricular activities, and special events. Capture and share the essence of school life through photography, video, and storytelling. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Experience: 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or event coordination, preferably in education or nonprofit sectors. Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, social media management, communication, and content creation. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with digital tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, email marketing platforms, and social media analytics tools. Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Self-starter who can work independently, take initiative, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance the school’s marketing and communication efforts.
