This is a remote role. How you can make a difference The Creative Design Specialist is responsible for designing and producing impactful digital and print marketing materials that effectively promote Verity’s brand, products, and services. Collaborating with internal stakeholders and managing external vendor relationships, this role ensures all creative outputs meet Verity’s quality and branding standards. Additionally, the Creative Specialist will capture and produce multimedia content to enhance Verity’s presence across social media, branches, and events. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Branding and Design Design all of the Credit Union’s digital and print materials (brochures, webpages, print ads, online advertising, direct mail, newsletters, e-mail templates, on-site materials). Provide art direction and help proof the design of deliverables. Create and provide illustrations for marketing deliverables when needed. Help create template marketing materials for frontline staff to use (editable PDFs). Work with other Marketing staff to develop, maintain, and manage Verity’s branding guidelines and standards. Visit Verity branches on a recurring basis to ensure branding and merchandising guidelines are being adhered to. Media Production and Content Creation Produce and edit videos for social media and other marketing channels under the direction of the VP of Marketing. Secure imagery and video for marketing deliverables, either via Verity’s stock imagery resource (iStock) or other Verity sources. Attend Verity branches or events in the Seattle Metropolitan area as needed to take photos and/or video. Stakeholder and Vendor Collaboration Create effective marketing materials to promote Verity’s brand, products, services, and membership, working collaboratively with stakeholders from across the organization. Assist with managing third-party printing vendor relationships, as well as outside designers as needed, ensuring that brand standards and quality of work meet expectations. Perform other duties, including special projects, as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Graphic Design and Brand Development : Creates visually impactful designs that reinforce Verity’s brand identity across print and digital platforms, demonstrating expertise in graphic design principles, brand development, and the creative process. Illustration and Layout Proficiency : Excels in illustration and layout, effectively using typography, graphic fundamentals, and understanding web limitations to deliver polished, professional visual materials. Multimedia Content Production : Confidently produces high-quality multimedia content, including photos and videos, for various marketing channels, utilizing Adobe Creative Suite tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.) to bring Verity’s brand to life. Web Design and Coding Skills : Leverages HTML and CSS knowledge to create responsive and accessible online designs, enhancing functionality while ensuring consistency with Verity’s branding standards. Communication and Collaboration : Communicates clearly and collaborates effectively with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors, using strong verbal and written skills to align on project goals and creative direction. Proofreading and Quality Control : Ensures consistency and quality across all materials by meticulously proofreading and editing, upholding Verity’s brand standards through careful attention to detail. Personal Management : Takes ownership of tasks and projects, managing time and priorities to meet deadlines and deliver quality results. Demonstrates self-motivation, adaptability, and strong organizational skills while maintaining focus and adjusting to changing demands. Print Production and Prepress Expertise : Coordinates prepress and print production processes, partnering with third-party vendors to produce high-quality print materials that meet Verity’s branding and quality standards. Financial Services Industry Insight : Applies an understanding of the unique design needs and regulatory standards in the financial services industry, adding relevant insights to the creative process to support Verity’s goals. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field required. 3-5 years of professional experience in graphic design, with a strong focus on brand development, digital and print media, and video production coordination. Expert user of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier, and other Adobe design programs). Financial services industry experience preferred but not required. Knowledge of Adobe Marketo system highly desired. Demonstrated experience in creating marketing materials across multiple platforms, including brochures, webpages, print ads, direct mail, newsletters, and social media content. Proficiency in photography and videography, including capturing, editing, and producing high-quality visual content. Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in design, branding, and multimedia marketing. PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS Effectively communicate with diverse staff, members, and vendors. Ability to travel within an assigned market. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds. Must be able to travel to assigned work locations on occasion (branches and events). Working Conditions Sitting or standing for long periods of time. Working on computers for a long period of time in an office environment. Largely involves working in a remote work environment. The job will require flexibility and the ability to work weekends or evenings to attend events.
