Nature , seeks a Chief Editor for
Nature Sensors , a new journal launching in January 2026.
Nature Sensors
will be a multidisciplinary journal at the intersection of applied sciences and engineering, highlighting advancements in sensor technologies, enabling methods, and applications across diverse fields including environmental science, biomedicine, computational technology, and more. The journal aims to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration by uniting various scientific communities with the shared goal of developing and applying sensor technologies for societal benefit. Role Responsibilities: The Chief Editor will lead an editorial team, managing all aspects of the editorial process, from manuscript selection to commissioning and editing Reviews and News & Views articles, as well as contributing writing to the journal. Engaging with the scientific community through lab visits and international conferences will be essential; thus, willingness to travel is required. Experience, Skills and Qualifications: A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field with a strong research background Editorial experience is required Managerial experience is preferred Inventive, communicative, and personable Broad scientific knowledge Strong writing skills, and the capacity to quickly understand emerging research areas are important for the role.
