Job Summary:
The Technical Writer/Editor will develop and edit a variety of materials for SAMHSA, including training materials, policy documents, brochures, and website content. This role requires strong writing, editing, and research skills, as well as the ability to produce clear and concise content for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Writing and Editing:
- Develop and edit a variety of technical materials related to grants management, financial management, and other SAMHSA programs.
- Ensure content accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to SAMHSA style guides and government accessibility standards.
- Conduct research to gather information for content development.
- Edit and proofread existing materials for grammar, syntax, and style.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the technical accuracy of content.
- Project Management Support:
- Manage assigned project tasks, including developing deadlines, and ensuring deliverables are completed on time and according to specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of project activities.
- Communicate project updates and any challenges to the assigned Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
Education and Skills Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in technical writing, editing, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
- Familiarity with federal government style guides and accessibility standards is preferred.
