Job Title: Director of Development and Marketing Location: 102 Fulton Ave Suite A Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 (Hybrid) Salary/Pay Rate : $94,200 per year/exempt Job Summary/Duties: People USA is a peer-run mental health non-profit that creates, provides, and promotes its own innovative crisis response and wellness services. Being peer-run means that all our services are developed and operated by people who have personally overcome mental health issues, addiction, or trauma. This makes us a valuable addition and alternative to the traditional behavioral health care system. The Director of Development & Marketing is responsible for building a comprehensive marketing and development plan, collateral digital media strategy, and managing the day-to-day marketing and communication needs of People USA. The Director will be responsible for donor relationships and fundraising events, managing planning and implementation of marketing and branding efforts, and contributing to grant writing and reporting. This position will also focus on raising funds and increasing brand awareness for different programs within People USA that make a difference in the mental health, addiction, and trauma fields. Development: Work with the Development Manager to develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy. Assist with increasing annual giving, building relationships with community partners, and implementing new engagement plans in the community served. Collaborate with People USA board of directors and donor support groups to ensure best practices are in place. Manage donor relationships, gift entry, acknowledgements, and maintain the database and donor research. Research innovative fundraising sources at local, state, and national levels for opportunities for the agency. Commit to accountability, measuring outcomes, and creating a results-oriented fundraising and communications culture. Marketing: Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to evaluate marketing strategies across People USA. Oversee branding in all communications such as websites, social media, electronic, and print communications, events, and annual reports to ensure continuity and consistency. Drive engagement with different resources through People USA's marketing strategy. Oversee production that establishes People USA as mental health leaders and extends its reach by driving awareness of our mission and values. Evaluate strategies for new marketing and outreach opportunities in the areas served. Act as a People USA ambassador, actively engaging, cultivating, and managing media relationships. Other: Promote and advocate for People USA's mission and values in a professional manner. Exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills. Be a team player and adapt to work independently, meeting expectations and deadlines. Follow People USA procedures and policies. Other job duties may be assigned. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. 5 years’ experience in development and/or direct marketing, with experience in both digital marketing and nonprofit fundraising. Ability to oversee the writing and development of creative content targeting a variety of audiences. Experience in grant vetting, writing, and implementation; knowledgeable in high-quality targeted writing for various stakeholders and audiences. Able to work independently with strong time management skills, multitasking, and meeting deadlines. Understanding of marketing and design software.
