Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:
This position will manage a team of Communications Supervisors, Dispatchers and RTOC staffing.
Experience/ Education
- Manages all full-time and part-time dispatch staff by assigning/directing work, conducting employee evaluation, staff training and development, and taking appropriate disciplinary/corrective actions for subordinate personnel.
- Manages all permanent and temporary staff assigned to the RTOC.
- Monitors activity on GCU property using campus security cameras and systems from a central location.
- Watches for irregularities, such as security breaches, emergency situations, crimes in progress and facility and safety hazards.
- Leverages technology to act as a force multiplier for the Public Safety Department.
- Coordinates response of police and security personnel based on real-time information gleaned from security camera and other systems.
- Maintains awareness of calls for service to track evolving situations, identify possible suspects and suspect vehicles, locate fleeing suspects, and relay information when necessary.
- Provides information and documentation to Public Safety management on shift activity and special issues.
- Serves as department ACIJIS System Security Officer (SSO) and performs all necessary duties and audits to ensure compliance.
- Develop policies and procedures, short- and long-term objectives.
- Analyze workflow, data and technology including existing or new communications technologies/methods and budgetary proposals and makes written and verbal recommendations to improve efficiency.
- Communicate with outside agency personnel, and other emergency service providers to ensure proper emergency services to the GCU community and compliance with communications procedures/regulations.
- Work collaboratively with surrounding law enforcement agencies.
- Completes required paperwork, evidence impounds, etc.
- Creates investigative support material, such as Photographic Line-ups, Crime Bulletins, Fliers, etc.
- Impounds property or evidence by following Impound Procedures in Public Safety Department policy manual.
- Creates, updates, or maintains spreadsheets, timelines, or other digital records of largescale or high-profile investigations.
- Attends court hearings for the purpose of testifying to job duties, reports, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information and other records.
- Works cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

This position will manage a team of Communications Supervisors, Dispatchers and RTOC staffing.
Experience/ Education
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Retired or prior law enforcement dispatch/RTOC supervisory experience preferred.
- Possess technical knowledge and understands relationships between disparate but relevant investigative software packages.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain after hire an Arizona Terminal Operator Certification (TOC) Level A.
