Position Summary:
The Marketing Intern will gain professional marketing exposure and experience working with members of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Marketing staff. This position requires approximately 20 hours per week and may be worked around school requirements. The Marketing Intern should be in office 50% of the hours per week alongside a member of the Marketing department. The remaining hours can be remote work with an agreed upon time frame in which the intern will be available on email and Teams while working on assigned projects. The duration of the internship is typically one semester during the fall, spring or summer. This is a paid position and may also qualify for college credit. Compensation is $15/hour. This position reports to the Manager of Marketing and Audience Development.
-Manage all distribution activity for the SLSO
-Manage on-site marketing efforts at SLSO venues
-Edit and provide copy for marketing collateral
-Create and enact ticket sales promotions and partnerships
-Provide social media support via SLSO outlets
-Provide budgetary and invoice processing support
-Special projects including event planning and coordination
-Participate in weekly departmental meetings
-Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
-Must be pursuing or have recently received a college degree, preferably in the fields of Business, Marketing, Journalism or Music
-Under general direction, works from general objectives with little functional guidance
-Motivated individual with strong organizational, writing and communication skills
-Ability to work with confidential data
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
-Must represent the SLSO in a professional manner
-Must be available to work nights and/or weekends
-Knowledge and passion for music a plus
