Job Overview:
The Engineer-RF - III will be part of the National In-Building PMO RF Design team, working closely with submarket teams, enterprise sales teams, and senior leadership teams. The role involves designing and managing the implementation of enterprise in-building projects and distributed antenna systems (DAS). This includes interactions at the Director/VP level and the development of Executive dashboards and presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review In-Building designs (in iBwave format) and complete the necessary RF paperwork for each project.
- Support the National In-Building team in all aspects of project execution.
- File 911 and regulatory paperwork for assigned projects.
- Collaborate with experienced RF Design engineers to manage projects across the country.
- Develop and maintain RF system optimization techniques for voice and data, specifically for Nortel, Motorola, and/or Nokia infrastructure.
- Utilize prediction and mapping tools (Atoll, iBwave, MapInfo, Windcatcher) for planning and implementation.
- Ensure compliance with FCC emissions and RF safety guidelines.
- Interface with senior leadership to produce executive dashboards and presentations.
Must Have Skills:
- IBWave Certification and hands-on experience with IBWave.
- Proficient in RF/Regulatory and PM Software: Atoll, Fuze/Siterra, Roofmaster/Roofview.
- Expertise with RF System Optimization techniques for voice and data for Nortel, Motorola, and/or Nokia infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of engineering concepts and a willingness to advance in a technical field.
- Expertise in RF Design for Indoor Systems (RAN and DAS OEM systems).
- In-depth knowledge of RF Engineering and its impact on decision-making processes.
- Proficiency with office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Ability to manage projects under pressure, with attention to detail and organization.
Job Requirements:
- Education: BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in RF Design.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, ability to work under stressful conditions, and proficiency with RF prediction and mapping tools.
Logistics:
- Location Options: Irving, TX; Rolling Meadows, IL; Southfield, MI.
- Working Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM (timezone dependent).
Certifications and Experience:
- IBWave Certification is required.
- Experience with regulatory and RF safety standards.
- Strong background in in-building RF designs and DAS systems.
