Technical Writer

The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating clear, accurate, and comprehensive documentation for XeteX production processes. This role is essential in standardizing workflows, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and facilitating consistent training and operations across the production department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, manufacturing, and process documentation, with the ability to translate complex procedures into user-friendly guides and instructions.

Job Duties:
  • Process Documentation
    • Collaborate with teams across the organization to gather detailed information about existing processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Create, edit, and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including work instructions, manuals, and visual aids.
    • Ensure all documentation is aligned with company standards, regulatory requirements, and quality management systems.
  • Content Development
    • Develop standardized templates and formats for process documentation to ensure consistency and readability.
    • Incorporate feedback from production staff and management to refine and improve written materials.
    • Utilize graphics, charts, and other visual elements to enhance understanding and usability of technical documents.
    • Creates clear and concise work instructions that are easily interpreted by the workforce.
  • Collaboration Across Departments
    • Work closely with production supervisors, engineers, and the quality team to identify documentation needs and prioritize tasks.
    • Support cross-functional teams by providing clear and accessible documentation for training, audits, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Quality and Compliance
    • Ensure all documentation adheres to company quality standards and supports compliance with industry regulations.
    • Regularly review and update documentation to reflect changes in processes, equipment, or quality standards.
  • Knowledge Management
    • Maintain an organized repository of all process documents and ensure accessibility for production staff.
    • Establish version control and documentation review schedules to keep materials current and accurate.
  • This position reports to the Quality Manager.


Requirements

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
    • Familiarity with documenting processes for quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001)
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in technical writing tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, or specialized documentation software).
    • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office Suite applications .
    • Experience with creating visual aids using tools like Visio, AutoCAD, or similar software is a plus.
    • Knowledge of HVAC systems or manufacturing processes is beneficial but not required.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and project management abilities .
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities.
