The Head of Research Services is a dynamic, service-oriented leader responsible for overseeing researcher services for access to and engagement with the distinctive and special collections held at the Boston University Libraries, including the collections of the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center, the University Archives, Nursing Archives, Rare Books, and other special collections. The Head of Research Services will cultivate a researcher-focused environment that is positive, informative, and inclusive, aiming to build a global community of students, scholars, and the public who engage with these special collections. A key aspect of this role, which also serves as a manager and mentor to archivists and other information professionals in Special Collections, is to articulate and implement a departmental vision that centers equitable, consistent assistance in a supportive environment for all users.
