The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) seeks a collaborative, creative, inspirational, and steadfast marketing and communications executive as it embarks on the next chapter of profoundly robust and successful marketing programs powered by a newly cohesive organizational design that deepens and expands community pride. Reporting to a transformational Chancellor, the key to success for the new Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communications will be implementing and empowering a restructured division, fostering a culture of curiosity and collaboration, and building relationships at all levels, including the Chancellor’s Council. The ideal candidate will be a strategist unafraid to challenge the status quo who brings fresh perspectives, proven leadership, and a commitment to innovation. This person will need exceptional diplomacy, discretion, and judgment; a complete understanding of the marketing, communications, and branding process from creative conceptualization to implementation; expert knowledge of traditional, digital, video, and emerging media and media relations; a nuanced understanding of how to balance exceptional creativity with rigorous, data-driven metrics; and demonstrated success fostering an empowered team culture and building an efficient, cohesive, and collaborative work ethic.
