As the Communications Manager in the UAA College of Arts and Sciences, you will have the opportunity to highlight the major initiatives of the College and champion its diverse faculty and staff. This quick-paced work environment is well-suited to an enterprising communications specialist who can translate and promote the College's mission and strategic plan before audiences internal and external to the University of Alaska Anchorage.

The UAA College of Arts and Sciences seeks candidates for its Communications Manager. In this position, you will be responsible for promoting the College's strategic communications, including weekly emails, alumni articles, and informing the CAS and campus community about events and initiatives of the College. You will also oversee the Communications and Events Coordinator and the Systems Support Specialist. There will be ongoing collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences management team, the Dean’s Office, and the College’s academic units, as well as with academic advisors and the university's public relations team.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field required, and 3 years of progressively responsible communications experience related to the program, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Experience in developing and maintaining social media sites. Master's degree preferred.

Position Details: This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage, AK. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 80, based on education and experience.
