Ridgewood Public Library 125 North Maple Avenue Ridgewood, NJ 07450 PT JOB OPENING–2024 CIVIL SERVICE TITLE: LIBRARY ASSISTANT, Youth Services EXAMPLES OF WORK: Welcome public at busy Children’s Service Desk: offer reference help and program registration Shelve books and media Monitor Teen and Children’s Programs Plan and facilitate YS Programs as needed HOURS: 16 hrs/wk: Monday 1-6, Tuesday 9-5, Thursday 1-5, Every 3rd Saturday 10 am-5 pm, 1 Sunday per month 1-5 pm STARTING SALARY: $17 - $19, commensurate with experience QUALIFICATIONS: Customer service orientation: outgoing, positive, able to relate well to children, teens, and caregivers Computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; Internet skills; ability to create flyers and promotional materials; online social networking tools a plus Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills Experience in working with children/teens Flexibility to work in and with other departments College degree and BCCLS experience a plus The Ridgewood Library hires under NJDOP & EOE guidelines.
