Qualifications Candidate must be a creative thinker, highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and unpredictable environment with constant deadlines
Experience leading and managing a team of employees; proven delegation, problem-solving and prioritizing skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software as well as the ability to learn additional proprietary programs required for job execution
Experience with web content creation and maintenance as well as social media management
Ability to develop and manage departmental budget
Proven ability to initiate and work independently, if necessary, and operate effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evening hours, as necessary
Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment
Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time
Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion
Responsibilities The Promotion Director will direct the activities of the promotions staff and engage in the planning and execution of station promotions and events
The right person will be able to maintain the relationship between programming and sales, including coordination of sales campaigns designed to drive ratings and revenue while also enhancing the image and reputation of our brand(s) in the community
Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion
This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Sacramento site
May sometimes be required to work weekends, nights and holidays depending on schedule of station and community events
Work directly with Programming and Sales Departments to create fun and exciting promotions that drive ratings and revenue
Manage and lead Promotion and Front Desk staff which consists of Full-time, Part-time and On-call employees; including, but are not limited to, recruiting, hiring, training and coaching
Plan, execute and track promotional events and contesting that take place on-air, on-line and on-site as well as implementing all aspects of contesting
Manage content and ensure all minimum quotas are met for the station web site, including the creation of engaging content to generate online traffic
Responsible for website and social media content; including, but not limited to blogs, video, and graphics
Create client promotions and promotional proposals with Program Director and Sales Managers
Working with the legal department in obtaining all documents necessary for promotion implementation
Protect the company through strict adherence to signed agreements of all station promotions and events, serving as Legal Liaison to ensure that all corporate legal requirements are met
Responsible for maintaining costs within department budget
Works directly with Digital Content teams to support their creation of web, email and social content
Participate at station promotional events as necessary, including set-up and breakdown of promotional equipment/materials for on-site promotional, sales and charity events
Responsible for Community Relations and ensuring the proper outside image of all Bonneville Sacramento stations, i.e., appearance of promotion staff, signage, and station presence displayed to the maximum potential with the resources available
Adhere to all FCC rules as well as Bonneville regulations regarding contesting, contest rules, promotional announcement compliance with company policy
Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively
Benefits Compensation Range
$23.00- $31.00 per hour
Compensation will be determined by an evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal and external benchmarks
