Senior Interior Designer

to join their growing team in Jacksonville, FL. This position competently performs all conventional aspects of design and development, including the planning and conducting of work requiring more advanced techniques. This position is responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client's needs.

Responsibilities:

Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures, independently applying advanced design concepts. Participates on major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features. Participates in the conceptual design and provides full support through the entire project. Liaises with project managers, architects, and consultants. May serve as the team expert. Provides professional interior design consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects. Meets with clients to determine objectives and requirements for the design. Prepares interior finish material and furniture, fixture, and equipment specifications, scaled drawings and proposals. Owns finished plans, specifications, and approval of materials and construction. May review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments. Reviews junior staff's work for technical accuracy and provides technical guidance to other professionals and technicians. May also lead a discipline team or small multidisciplinary teams to complete projects. Performs quality control reviews and ensure achievement of key milestones. Performs field observations of ongoing construction projects to ensure projects adhere to interior architectural plans. Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements. Remains knowledgeable of state and local building codes, life safety codes, and other ordinances. May supervise direct reports, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, development conversations, and productivity management. Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice. Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in interior design or architecture from a CIDA accredited program and applicable minimum experience as required by NCIDQ or the applicable jurisdiction. Minimum of 7 years relevant experience. This experience includes working on parts of a major project or multiple moderate-sized projects and proven experience providing technical guidance to entry/junior-level staff and reviewing others' work for technical accuracy. NCIDQ certification and/or state registration as applicable. Proficient in production software and construction document production. Must possess strong oral and written communications skills. Must have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders. Proven ability to successfully address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound professional and business-like manner. Be US Citizen per client requirement.
