Overview
The Brand Manager position is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, family owned leader in the consumer small appliances industry. The candidate will play a key role in the development and implementation of global product innovation and marketing strategy on some of BISSELL's highest growth and highest priority product platforms. The Brand Manager is accountable to the Category Director and will lead the commercial launch plans of new products. They will have the opportunity to be involved in global consumer insights work, ultimately shaping our future innovation. This role will experience the thrill of taking products from idea all the way through launching in markets around the world, owning everything from success criteria and products specs to channel management strategy, packaging, and POP. This position requires experience in product development for consumer products, and a BA/BS in marketing or related field of study. Candidate must demonstrate proven experience with consumer program development, line extension development and sales, as well as leadership of cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Identifies and defines consumer needs. Champions the voice of the consumer on all projects. In conjunction with the category director, identify and define consumer needs for all development programs with the partnership of marketing research department. Develop, implement, execute and manage new product launches and maintain existing product lines. Serve as marketing lead for specific innovation projects. Represents the voice of marketing, sales, and consumer services to R&D, finance, manufacturing and the related GPD teams. In conjunction with category director and sales, develops line objectives and channel management and distribution strategies. Work with key accounts to develop and improve BISSELL product line in-store productivity, gross profit and assist in maximizing customer satisfaction. Develops and manages appropriate merchandising, packaging, advertising, and promotional programs, with the assistance of the communications group and account managers. Monitors competitive strategic and tactical activities. Develops appropriate strategies and/or new launches. Ability to communicate effectively with top management, project team members, manufacturing units, and all other Associates. Works closely with other team members of the product business unit team and other support groups to meet timelines and budget objectives. Keeps Category Director informed of key issues. Is available for marketing and sales projects as needed. Understand and be held accountable for all the category's goals (including profitability). In conjunction with category director, develop and execute tactical initiatives and implement strategy to meet or exceed these goals. Understand and assist in the plan and update development process. May be required to perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
