Marketing Manager, Sponsor Marketing

The Role
GovExec is seeking a Marketing Manager, Sponsor Marketing. The GovExec Marketing & Media Planning team is leading the charge on positioning GovExec's corporate narrative in the B2G space, developing content/brand marketing, and driving sales enablement. As the Marketing Manager, you will be a critical player in achieving GovExec's ambitious growth and sales strategy, overseeing various marketing functions that drive thought leadership and build & maintain client partnerships. You will report directly to the Senior Director, Brand, and Product Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Planning. Develop and build strategic media plans to maximize audience reach and engagement. Analyze market trends, audience insights, and campaign performance to optimize media allocation and targeting.
- Proposal writing. Define, write, and create proposals that address clients' specific target goals. Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to build the most cohesive programs across digital advertising, events, research, and/or content marketing efforts (e.g., articles, videos, social, email, etc). Develop out-of-the-box solutions that showcase GovExec's leadership in the B2G space.
- Marketing collateral and sales tools. Own and develop marketing materials, media kits, and sales tools to support GovExec sales efforts and educate our target audiences about who we are.
- Channel and content marketing. Develop both short-form copy and long-form content across various channels (such as LinkedIn, email, corporate blog) that support inbound generation and drive thought leadership within the B2G space.
- Community-building. Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, partners, government contractors, and marketers to support GovExec's key market moments and educational trainings.
- Project Management. Partner with a team of marketing professionals to develop and execute annual initiatives ensuring they are delivered in a timely fashion.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional marketing/communications experience.
- Proven track record in developing successful cross-product campaigns and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- A passion for words with exceptional writing skills, especially in persuasive copywriting, and excellent communicator.
- Self-starter who is capable of and enthusiastic about owning projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong skills in analytical and strategic thinking; ability to understand and use relevant information about market issues and audience interests to develop compelling messaging.
- Proficient in Google Slides, Sheets + Docs.
- Understanding of government markets and B2G marketing is a plus.
- A familiarity and comfort with event logistics and event marketing is also a plus.

The compensation range for this role is $65,000 to $70,000 per year.
