The Social Media Specialist is responsible for supporting the social media function to drive brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation. This role is responsible for content creation, assisting with graphic design, multimedia skills, and data-driven analysis to optimize USL Spokane social media efforts across various platforms. The Social Media Specialist works closely with other members of the social media team and marketing to create compelling social media content that will resonate with our target audiences, tailored to different platforms, and aligned with marketing strategic initiatives.USL Spokane fosters a culture of creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to staff and community engagement and we are looking for someone to help drive forward our mission:To establish the world's preeminent professional soccer club, dedicated to championing our community, athletes, and fans.The Social Media Specialist must be able to work regular shifts during the week and on the weekends during home games. This position requires flexible hours, extended days, and evenings. This position must be located in Spokane and is an in-person role.Prior experience in producing and managing social media content.Key or Essential FunctionsTo perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the duties listed below. The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:•Work with the Digital Marketing Director and other social media employees to develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive social media content calendar aligned with business goals and marketing campaigns.•Create engaging and informative content tailored to various social media platforms.•Write compelling copy that reflects the USL Spokane voice and properly represents both Spokane Velocity FC and Spokane Zephyr FC.•Collaborate with internal staff to develop and utilize eye-catching graphics and images to enhance the visual appeal of social media posts.•Utilize multimedia tools to create dynamic content, such as animations, video, and interactive posts.•Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and maintains a consistent visual identity across platforms.•Monitor, analyze, and report on key social media metrics and performance indicators.•Provide insights and recommendations based on data to optimize content strategy and improve engagement and reach.•Stay informed about social media trends, tools, and best practices to ensure the company remains at the forefront of digital marketing.•Attend community and social events capturing photo and video content and create engaging social content.•Capture and share compelling behind the scenes content to connect fans with the players, coaches, and staff.•Use smartphone to capture high-quality photos and videos during training sessions, match days, and behind the scenes events. Quickly edits photos and videos using mobile editing apps for immediate posting.•Stay up-to-date with smartphone photography and videography best practices, including leveraging features like slow motion, time-lapse, and live focus. Game Day and Training •Provide real-time social media updates during games, training, and press conferences.•Manage live streams, stories, and posts during game day, including pre-match, in-match, and post-match coverage.•Act as the on-stie liaison for social media at stadium or training sites.•Coordinate with other members of the social media team to coordinate schedules, ensure proper game, training, and community engagement coverage. Minimum Qualifications•Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications or related field.•Minimum of 1 year experience in producing and managing social media content or other related field.•A combination or accumulation of applicable work-related experience and/or education may be recognized as sufficiently meeting the requirements based upon educational programs and specific experience.•Ability to pass comprehensive background check including a motor vehicle report.•Possess and maintain a current and valid driver's license and maintain legally required insurance•Ability to pass SafeSport trainingUSL Spokane values the whole individual and recognizes a wide range of qualifications, experience, and education can contribute to an individual's success in a role. A combination of qualifications will be considered.Compensation and Benefits: Non-Exempt position with a range of $20 - $25 / hour Eligible for annual discretionary bonus2 weeks paid vacation annually (prorated the first year of employment).
