Exam Content Developer II

Location: NCCPA is a hybrid work environment with our headquarters located in Johns Creek, Georgia. NCCPA has determined that the telecommuting status of this position is remote which means that employees in remote positions are allowed to primarily work remotely with required travel for mandatory meetings, including to the NCCPA headquarters.

As a matter of policy, NCCPA restricts remote positions to those in which the employee's home office location in a U.S. jurisdiction in the Eastern or Central time zones.

Who We Are

NCCPA is the only certifying organization for physician assistants in the United States. Established as a not-for-profit organization in 1975, we are dedicated to assuring the public that certified PAs meet established standards of clinical knowledge and cognitive skills upon entry into practice and throughout their careers. All U.S. states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. territories have decided to rely on NCCPA certification as one of the criteria for licensure or regulation of PAs.

Why Us, Why Now?

As the Exam Content Developer II , you will serve as an editor of all NCCPA examinations, ensuring that exam content is developed in compliance with NCCPA and industry standards.

In accordance with NCCPA's Conflict of Interest Policy, any NCCPA employee who is a PA, lives with or is in a committed relationship with, or is related to a PA is prohibited from working on exam content, participating in NCCPA exam-related meetings and will not have access to NCCPA systems that contain PA data.

How Will You Make a Difference? You will...

  • Ensure that all content blueprint specifications are accurately reflected in NCCPA's approved item banking system.
  • Contribute to developing the annual schedule for all NCCPA's exam-related activities and ensure compliance in implementing the approved schedule.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Exam Development and the Senior Editors to develop training materials and conduct orientation and training sessions for Subject Matter Expert (SME) volunteers.
  • Collaborate with the exam development and psychometric teams to develop and disseminate item writing assignments based on examination specifications and analysis of the examination pool.
  • Provide editorial services for exam development committee meetings by interacting positively with SMEs and actively facilitating the process using test construction and methodology knowledge.
  • Ensure that all examination materials are accurately coded for all possible codes (metadata, exam availability, state of item, etc.).
Hard Skills You Will Have
  • A Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of five years experience in medical editing field.
  • Excellent editing skills with emphasis on spelling, grammar, and adherence to style specifications.
  • Knowledge of test development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent proofreading skills.
  • Excellent skills with use of computer applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, and databases. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
