UWF Foundation Marketing Intern, Website

JOB PURPOSE:

The University of Wyoming Foundation is searching for a creative and driven website intern! Join our dynamic Marketing and Communications team and play a key role in shaping an outstanding, user-centric online presence for the foundation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to create and enhance web pages, evaluate and improve existing designs, and implement best practices in front-end and UI/UX development. You'll gain hands-on experience with a variety of cutting-edge web development tools to streamline functionality and elevate user experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Create and maintain web pages for the UW Foundation website using the university's content management system (CMS) and other tools. Implement the UW Foundation's web content strategy under the supervision of the Manager of Content and Web Strategy, as well as collaborating with other members of the Marketing and Communications team Optimize existing web pages for better design, performance, and user experience. Collaborate with content creators to effectively present their material online. Conduct research on website design best practices, user experience, and accessibility standards. Utilize AI tools for brainstorming design concepts and generating code. Assist in testing and debugging of website features. Document website changes. COMPENSATION AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

$16.50/hour Approximately 10-20 hours a week during the semester, with the opportunity to work during the summer. In-person at the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center at a desk in a cubicle shared with other foundation interns. Required technology and other materials will be provided. WORK LOCATION:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A UW student. Understanding of web design principles and user experience. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript. Understanding of multiplatform web design, including mobile. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Understanding of web accessibility standards. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with content management systems, with University of Wyoming Omni CMS experience preferred. A portfolio of created websites or web projects. Creativity and an eye for design. Understanding of responsive design principles. A focus on the audience of the UW Foundation-donors, corporations, foundations, alumni, UW administration, UW colleges and units, students and parents of students, state leadership, friends of the university, and more. Experience with documentation and version control systems (e.g., Git). Experience coding websites without a CMS (in HTML, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap, etc.). Experience with VS Code or similar IDEs. Familiarity with AI tools for web development. Knowledge of UW branding standards. Strong writing and editing skills.
