We are looking for a highly motivated Lab Technician, Library Preparation to join our team!You will play a key hands-on role in supporting NGS library preparation for a vast set of genomics and multi-omics applications. You will mainly be responsible for wet lab work, documentation and quality control, ensuring the highest standards are met in our workflow. This opportunity is a full-time contracting position with a Monday-Friday schedule.How You'll Contribute:Manage the internal sample tracking system to ensure accurate and efficient documentation of sample accession/progressionPrepare and pool diverse samples for processing through the UG100 platformConduct PCR on samples, ensuring they are ready for downstream processingPerform sample quality control (QC), including but not limited to Qubit, qPCR, Tapestation assessmentsExecute experiments both in-tube and on automated liquid handlersAssist in the development and optimization of workflows, user interfaces, and other tools and procedures related to experiments, instruments, and product developmentDocument work thoroughly, analyze data, and communicate results clearly in group settingsOther job duties as assigned Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:Associate's degree in molecular biology or a closely related fieldMinimum of 6-12 months hands-on experience with a wide range of biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, NGS library preparation, amplification, qPCR, buffer preparation, dilution series, and DNA sequencingPractical experience in running, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory instruments, such as thermal cyclers, flow cytometers, bioanalyzers, protein/DNA quantification tools, and gel electrophoresis devicesExperience with sample preparation and QC methods, including Qubit, Tapestation, and related techniques, is highly preferredMust have low template work environment experience and keen understanding of contamination sources. Ideally, has experience with customer samplesProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, task/project tracking software along with strong basic computer skillsMust be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and a collaborative team player, with excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to work independentlyStrong communication skills, effective time management, and a can-do attitude, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environmentUltima Genomics is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
