Job Description

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):

Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior, and who holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

The Social Media Content Creator serves the University Communications division of DBU by helping to curate and coordinate engaging content on behalf of the University. This individual will manage the community management on the DBU social media channels under University Communications. The Social Media Content Creator will also be responsible for monitoring the social media presence and reputation of DBU as well as performing social listening across other relevant topics. This individual will also work closely with the Assistant Director of Social Media to organize projects, pull reports, and analyze metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have an understanding of the mission and goals of Dallas Baptist University
  • Must be able to engage with people through social media and in person in order to generate engaging content.
  • Must have strong writing skills.
  • Must have strong photography and videography skills.
  • Must have proficient graphic design skills, including experience in relevant Adobe Creative Cloud software, including, but not limited to, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.
  • Must have demonstrated skills in social media including generating content, community management, and analyzing metrics.
  • Must have adequate knowledge, talent, and skill necessary to perform duties.
  • Must be willing to work within a creative team structure for all projects.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours in the event of crises or special occasions that require University-related after-hour social engagement or response.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee community management by engaging in dialog and responding to questions or comments that arrive through DBU social media channels.
  • Monitor the content on all affiliated DBU social media sites and platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze other University social media accounts and develop recommendations for content and strategy based on findings.
  • Monitor social media analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of social media campaigns.
  • Provide reports covering qualitative and quantitative data regularly.
  • Coordinate campaigns and content calendars of DBU social media platforms through Sprout Social or similar social media management platform to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Curate and develop creative and innovative content ideas.
  • Contact and work with departments across campus to coordinate social media team-led projects.
  • Manage the organization of social media project files on SharePoint.
  • Travel as needed to produce social media content.
  • Generate and implement content on the various DBU social media sites under the direction of the Assistant Director of Social Media.
  • Provide leadership over Social Media student workers when necessary.
  • Stay current on all social media trends, platform updates, and news, as well as their possible impact on the University.
  • Other duties as assigned.


WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a full-time position with regular office hours between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Weekends and nights may also be required.
