URBAN TXT: Teens Exploring Technology is a nationally recognized and growing nonprofit organization focused on inspiring young men of color to become confident leaders who use technology as a tool to improve marginalized communities. We are dedicated to ending the school-to-prison pipeline. Through our unique approach to leadership, technology, and entrepreneurship, we prevent our youth from entering this pipeline. Our interdisciplinary curriculum develops leadership, entrepreneurship, design, and coding skills among underrepresented teens. Position Summary TXT-LABS is seeking a creative and motivated Web Designer/UI/UX Designer for a Federal Work-Study position. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of IT consulting projects, including educational technology initiatives. You will be responsible for designing user interfaces that enhance user experiences across our web and mobile platforms. Responsibilities Develop, test, and deploy web and mobile applications to support our IT consulting and educational services. Collaborate with designers to implement responsive and interactive web pages. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Teach youth about programming. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications. Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed. Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing. Assist with database management and back-end development tasks. Key Qualifications You MUST be a USC student applying through work-study. Enrollment in a relevant degree program (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field). Experience with back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, PHP, or similar). Familiarity with database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Gain practical experience in web and mobile development across a range of projects. Contribute to impactful projects that help shape the future of our clients and students.
