DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is a supervisory-level classification with duties that are administrative/supervisory in nature and involve professional multimedia content development. The classification of Communications Supervisor is distinguished from the next lower classification by the incumbent's full responsibility for supervising the content development and maintenance of the website, social media, print, and City's cable TV stations, the management of Public, Educational and Government (PEG) funding, and responsibility for location and operational interface with the local cable operator and physical location of TV station operations. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Communications Manager in that the latter describes a manager with broader responsibility for the Marketing & Outreach Division (MOD) within the City Manager's Office.
