About this position:
The Associate Marketing Manager's primary objective is to help manage and execute the entire strategic marketing function of the Trade Nonfiction Marketing team (including Baker Books,Revell, Bethany House, and Chosen divisions), serving its authors, the content of their books, and to assist the marketing lead in executing the marketing strategies, and ultimately, to achieve the financial goals for each title.

About this position:
The Associate Marketing Manager's primary objective is to help manage and execute the entire strategic marketing function of the Trade Nonfiction Marketing team (including Baker Books,Revell, Bethany House, and Chosen divisions), serving its authors, the content of their books, and to assist the marketing lead in executing the marketing strategies, and ultimately, to achieve the financial goals for each title.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as the marketing lead for assigned titles
- Sends out and ensures authors return TPQs in advance of positioning meetings
- Work with marketing team and author to develop a final title/subtitle for each assigned book
- Participate in cover direction meetings for nonfiction books
- Develops marketing budgets
- Writes marketing plans and sends them to the author/agent for review
- Under the direction of the Marketing Manager, serves as the key marketing communication link to the author/agent for assigned titles
- Fully executes marketing plans for assigned titles including working with VisComm to develop all creative visuals
- Has budget accountability for assigned titles
- Responsible for attending positioning, titling, and cover direction meetings, and for taking a lead role at these meetings for their assigned titles.
- Works with the marketing assistant and the author to identify, obtain, and prioritize endorsements for assigned titles
- Helps coordinate AMRs and related copy for marketing creative (e.g. postcards, print ads, social media graphics, etc.) for assigned titles and other promotional materials as assigned
- Works with the marketing assistant to process and code invoices in Medius. Updates FileMaker Pro with accurate expenses for assigned titles.
- Assists the marketing manager in organizing and maintaining marketing budgets, as needed
- Attends Editorial and Production meetings as the Trade Nonfiction Marketing representative and sends follow up notes to the team.
- Reserves placements with advertisers for print, online and radio for all titles within the category they support. Creates a strong relationship with each vendor. Enters media insertions in FileMaker Pro and initiates delivers AMR to marketing managers based on the due dates for those insertions for assigned titles.
- Attends Trade Nonfiction publishing board meetings, strategic planning meetings, and BPG sales conferences.
- Serves as the support person for the Nonfiction Marketing Manager and helps other Nonfiction AMMs as needed.
- The AMM will manage their time with the help of their supervisor. If the AMM has questions about additional assigned tasks that fall into this category, discrepancies will be worked out with their supervisor and the Vice President of Marketing
- Participates and assists in author acquisitions meetings and phone calls as needed or assigned by their supervisor
- At least two years of marketing experience
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) essential
- Strong relational skills, seeking to serve and meet the needs of Baker authors
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Aptitude as a self-starter
- Bachelor's degree required
- Client management experience preferred
