Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Principal-Special Education, provides appropriate educational services to students with identified visual impairments and develops and writes individual education programs (IEPs) for the students.
Requirements / Qualifications
CERTIFICATION AND EDUCATION
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential authorizing Visual Impairments; or
- California teaching credential with authorization to teach visual handicapped students (EL CLAD)
- Bachelor' s degree from an accredited college or university
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in teaching children in need of special education services related to visually handicapped and blind; knowledge of and ability to implement the intent of federal and state mandates for special education; ability to communicate successfully with parents and staff; ability to diagnose, assess, prescribe and evaluate the learning needs of individual pupils.
