This new hire will work at the Technical Innovation Center, located in Hunt Valley, MD. The Packaging Designer, Secondary Packaging (CAD - Scientist II) will report to a Laboratory Sciences Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Creation and maintenance of AutoCAD technical drawings and associated graphics die lines
  2. BLUE system graphics die line uploads and coordination
  3. Secondary packaging design and sample production; mock-up creation
  4. Planning and conducting complex technical assignments
  5. Interacting with all levels of management, working cross-functionally, participating in project planning activities, and providing technical guidance in adjacent areas.
  6. Being accountable for deliverables & project milestones.
  7. Planning, scheduling and prioritizing work, ensuring deadlines & customer expectations are met.
  8. Enforcing established standards, controls, and processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree, Associates Degree, or Technical Study in a relevant technical discipline
  2. Minimum of 4 years of CAD and secondary package design experience (corrugated, labels, cartons, etc.)
  3. Strong user knowledge of AutoCAD functionality to complete assignments and formulate future direction
  4. Fundamental knowledge of packaging materials as related to drawing creation
  5. Attention to detail, strong math skills, problem-solving skills, solid communication & interpersonal skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Consumer Products background; Food industry experience; Manufacturing plant experience
  2. Knowledge of packaging materials performance characteristics, automated production environments
  3. Hands-on experience with Gerber cutting table, Roland printer, Cimex design software, ArtiosCAD, SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, C.A.P.E. palletization software
