Your Mission
In this role you will be creating immersive environments and dynamic gameplay moments through sound design and proprietary audio implementation tools. You will work directly with a team of sound designers, producers, and various other members of the development team to bring Azeroth to life through audio. If you are passionate about sound, making games, and working in a team environment, then we would love to hear from you.
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, California. We will also consider a remote contractor preferably in PST.
This is a 12-month contract with a potential 6-month extension if needed.
What you bring to the table:
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Create sound effects for use in ambience, creatures, game objects, spells, and UI.
- Implement sounds using proprietary audio implementation tools.
- Work in a collaborative environment, sharing your work and audio perspective with peers in audio and in cross-discipline groups.
- Solve technical and creative challenges to achieve the best possible player experience.
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years creating outstanding sound effects, backgrounds, and Foley for games.
- 1 or more years working with commercial and/or proprietary audio implementation tools.
- Demonstrable proficiency working in DAW workstations, like REAPER, Nuendo or Pro Tools.
- Experience utilizing sound effect recording sessions to gather resources for audio production.
- Demo reel or audio portfolio including representative examples of sound design experience.
Extra Points
- Shipped multiple titles in the role of Sound Designer.
- Experience playing World of Warcraft (A Very Big Plus).
- Development experience with MMOs.
- Experience designing sounds for fantasy and open world games.
- Scripting and/or light programming knowledge.
- Experience editing and conforming sound-to-picture.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
