This role demands a seasoned professional with a proven advertising and marketing law track record, including complex agreements and compliance issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Draft and negotiate advertising agency agreements, influencer contracts, celebrity endorsements, sponsorship deals, online media buying contracts, and other marketing and promotion agreements.
2. Review and analyze advertising copy for compliance with false advertising laws, claim substantiation, intellectual property rights, and right of publicity issues.
3. Provide counsel on contest and sweepstakes compliance, including prize promotions and regulatory requirements.
4. Advise clients on price advertising, recurring subscriptions, and loyalty/rewards programs.
5. Handle matters related to false advertising, unfair competition, and disputes with the National Advertising Division.
6. Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
7. Maintain high attention to detail and demonstrate strong teamwork capabilities.
8. Prepare and present legal arguments and documents, ensuring communication clarity and precision.

Requirements

1. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions.
2. Substantive experience in drafting and negotiating various marketing and advertising agreements.
3. Experience with false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division disputes is advantageous.
4. Proven ability to work well in a team setting and maintain high attention to detail.

Education

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Excellent academic credentials.

Certifications

1. Admission to the Bar in Illinois.
